Strawberry Sorbet
You are no longer going to break the bank to treat yourself to a delicious strawberry sorbet, today I am going to prove to you that making your dessert at home is a more economical option. In a few minutes and with a minimalist budget and simple and affordable ingredients, you will be able to make a frozen, delicious and above all healthy dessert worthy of a chef’s dessert and which will rival store sorbets.
If we take the example of the 48 oz (approximately 1.4 liters) Tillamook Oregon strawberry sorbet which is sold on Walmart.com for $5.98, that works out to approximately $4.27 per liter. If we want to make it using the ingredients and instructions from the recipe below, we have fresh strawberries around $2.50, sugar around $0.50, water around $0.10, and lemon approximately $0.25, the total cost is estimated at approximately $3.35. This works out to approximately $2.39 per liter.
That’s a saving of almost 50%!
A price that is significantly cheaper than Tillamook Oregan sorbet. Please note that ingredient prices vary depending on the region and the store where you purchase them.

Brownies
This time, we will take the example of brownies, if we take the Starbucks Double Chocolate Brownie which generally costs between $2 and $3, and we compare it with a mold filled with homemade Brownie which requires ingredients like flour, cocoa powder, sugar, eggs and butter, which can cost between $5 and $7. This is a significant savings compared to purchasing individual brownies at Starbucks.
Just like in the sorbet example, if we make our own brownies at home, it can potentially be much cheaper than buying them already made. The exact cost difference will depend on recipe and ingredient prices in your area, but savings are certainly possible.
Plus, you will have the satisfaction of preparing it!
